Position Summary:
Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a full-time Finance Manager on our Fond du Lac Campus. The Finance Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing core financial operations of the College including general ledger accounting, grant financial management, fixed assets and financial reporting, and providing support for the annual budget process and ongoing budget management.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field, three years of progressively more responsible experience in an accounting or financial/budget management environment and demonstrated leadership and/or coaching ability and experience.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day financial operations of the College including general ledger management, fixed asset management, cash management support, grant financial management, and financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain the College’s financial accounting system and internal controls with responsibility for timely and accurate recording of financial transactions, including monitoring ledger activity for data integrity and accuracy issues. Oversee routine account reconciliations as well as monthly and year-end closing. Maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
• Develop and coordinate the implementation of procedures and guidelines to ensure legal and/or regulatory compliance for all fiscal service activities, including accounting, audit procedures, cash management, reporting, and budgeting in compliance with WTCS rules, GASB standards, generally accepted accounting principles, and other federal, state and College policies as appropriate.
• Coordinate the annual audit process and implement the recommendations of auditors in accordance with accounting practices and regulations. Manage other program audits as appropriate.
• Assist with the development of the annual comprehensive financial report (ACFR), the institutional plan and budget, and prepare or review all other College financial reporting for federal, state, and grant compliance.
• Assist with the annual budget development process and related documentation.
• Respond to inquiries related to budget issues, analyze and communicate trends affecting revenues/expenditures, review budget transfers, and assist with budget modifications in compliance with College policy.
• Collaborate within Financial Services and other units to develop and implement processes and activities that are simple to use, efficient and effective, incorporate data analysis, maximize the employee experience and assist leadership to accomplish the strategic priorities of the College.
• Maintain and administer Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) access to ensure proper access is granted to employees while maintaining adequate internal controls. Serve as ERP Finance functional lead; initiate, develop and provide employee training related to budgeting and finance.
• Administer the College’s procurement card program.
• Participate in strategic planning, budget development, and program improvement efforts of the College and Financial Services Support System.
• Hire, mentor, and supervise assigned employees. Responsible for the performance management, coaching, and ongoing growth and development of direct reports.
Experience & Qualifications(in addition to those listed in the summary above):
• Demonstrated experience with computerized financial information systems and their use in financial analysis, budgeting and reporting.
• Knowledge of software applications, including Microsoft Office 365 (Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively Ability to provide a complete and timely explanation of issues and decisions to ensure customer understanding and alignment with the College values.
• High degree of integrity and professionalism and a demonstrated ability to respect the confidentiality of information and demonstrate critical and systems thinking.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team.
• High degree of organizational skills and the ability to quickly interpret and synthesize data and information from multiple sources to develop insights and recommendations.
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work; analyze information, resolve problems and make recommendations. Knowledge of continuous and performance improvement concepts.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.
Desired Qualifications:
• Registered certified public accountant (CPA).
• Experience in an educational environment is preferred.
• Supervisory experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of data reporting systems, such as Argos or Cognos.
Hiring Range: $79,550-$92,279
