Position Summary:
Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a full-time Associate Dean of Manufacturing & Apprenticeship on our West Bend Campus. The Associate Dean works collaboratively with all areas of the college to foster learner outcomes. Additionally, this position provides oversight to assigned areas of instruction and course offerings, ensures applicable accreditation and/or programmatic regulations are met, supervises faculty and employees, cultivates key internal and external partnerships, and facilitates academic initiatives and special projects.
The successful candidate will have a master’s degree in a related field, two years of teaching experience (If two years of teaching experience is not met, a combination of teaching and other related experiences, such as project management, training development, program coordination, and/or curriculum writing and oversight may be considered.) and two years of leadership experience.

Responsibilities:
• Assist the Academic Dean with and manage academic initiatives, diversity and inclusion initiatives, planning, special projects, and grants; attend to student and employee issues in support of retention and success.
• Hire, mentor, and supervise assigned employees. Responsible for the performance management, coaching, and ongoing growth and development of direct reports, in accordance with College culture, workplace values, and Faculty Quality Assurance System (FQAS) procedures.
• Provide oversight of program courses to ensure the quality of the curriculum, course design and delivery, adequate supplies and equipment, and enforcement of safety processes and procedures. Respond to student and employee concerns and issues, develop and implement solutions, and make recommendations to the Academic Dean when appropriate. Ensure that industry safety and program requirements are current, and procedures are followed for all students and employees.
• Schedule courses and manage enrollments using an effective and efficient approach that supports student progression and needs. Manage faculty workload assignments in a collaborative manner.
• Provide input to the Academic Dean in the development and implementation of new courses, certificates, diplomas, and degree program offerings and modifications to existing courses and programs. Complete, in collaboration with the Curriculum department, required documentation for System Office approval of new or revised courses and programs.
• Manage program curriculum, in collaboration with faculty and the Curriculum department, to ensure it is relevant, current, consistent, meets WTCS standards, and is developed using input from advisory committees and other employer stakeholders. Ensure program curriculum is maintained according to College expectations and follows Curriculum Review and Program Quality Review processes.
• Manage program advisory committee formation and membership, and ensure meeting schedules, agendas, and minutes follow the College policy and procedures.
• Manage the departmental budget and monitor expenses for areas of direct supervision. Provide input for strategic planning and budget development to include current expenses, major equipment, and College initiative requests. Manage grant and budget expenditures. Utilize data to make informed decisions associated with the management of assigned programs and course offerings in order to maximize student retention and success.
Experience & Qualifications(in addition to those listed in the summary above):
• Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and assessment.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, online learning management systems, and general software applications, including Microsoft Office 365 (Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with end users, colleagues, and management to provide a complete and timely explanation of issues and decisions to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team.
• Demonstrated project management experience and the ability to work independently and problem-solve using sound judgment.
• High degree of organizational skills and the ability to quickly interpret and synthesize data and information from multiple sources to develop insights and recommendations.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.
Desired Qualifications:
• Teaching experience in a post-secondary institution.
• Leadership experience in a post-secondary institution and supervisory experience.
