Position Summary:
Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a full-time Apprenticeship Operations Coordinator on our Fond du Lac Campus. The Apprenticeship Operations Coordinator serves as the apprenticeship lead and primary liaison between the college and the WTCS, employers, and third-party apprenticeship sponsors. This role ensures the effective coordination, communication, and administration of apprenticeship programs for all Registered Apprenticeship programs at the College. Working under the direction of the Dean of Manufacturing, Trades, and Apprenticeship, the Coordinator is the champion for apprenticeship and leads program planning, development, class scheduling, compliance, and engagement efforts to ensure robust apprenticeship opportunities for employers, high-quality learning experiences, and strong industry partnerships to align with workforce needs and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, or a related field, three years of related work experience in higher education, apprenticeship, or community engagement and an understanding of higher education operations with experience in apprenticeship programs. Responsibilities:
• Lead apprenticeship coordination and communication with employers, third-party sponsoring organizations, and current and prospective apprenticeship students. Serve as the designated Apprenticeship Coordinator to the WTCS.
• Lead regular and proactive interactions with district employers to bring awareness of and participation in the College’s apprenticeship programs and to explore new program opportunities and schedules that meet employer needs.
• Drive the refinement of existing apprenticeship programs and the development of new programs.
• Lead the design and development of class schedules for both paid and unpaid related instruction, ensuring alignment with employer needs and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate program logistics, including room and equipment scheduling, instructional materials, and special sessions as needed, in collaboration with respective deans and associate deans.
• Facilitate the onboard processes for apprenticeship sponsors and apprentices, including contracts, other documentation, orientation, and continuous engagement.
• Monitor apprentice enrollment, progress, performance, and attendance; ensure timely and accurate data entry and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Apprenticeship standards, college policies, and grant/funding requirements, as appropriate.
• Facilitate program planning, data tracking, and reporting related to program effectiveness, outcomes, and employer satisfaction.
• Facilitate problem-solving and communication among stakeholders to address operational and instructional challenges that arise.
• Represent the college at employer meetings, industry events, and apprenticeship-related functions as needed to strengthen partnerships and promote program visibility.
• Plan and coordinate apprenticeship recognition and award events.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless program delivery and support services.
Experience & Qualifications(in addition to those listed in the summary above):
• Knowledge of software applications, including Microsoft Office 365 (Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with end users, colleagues, and management to provide a complete and timely explanation of issues and decisions to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Ability to take initiative, work independently with little supervision and make sound decisions with minimal direction.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize special projects with routine assignments.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team.
• High degree of integrity and professionalism and a demonstrated ability to respect the confidentiality of information and demonstrate critical and systems thinking.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.
Desired Qualifications:
• Related work experience in support of apprenticeship, advising; student support; service learning, or internships.
• Understanding of higher education operations including admissions, advising, recruitment, career planning, employment services, and student success.
Other Position Requirements:
•Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Hiring Range: $61,430-$71,259
