Position Summary:

Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a part-time Spirit Store Representative.  This position performs day-to-day cashier operations, cash handling, store opening and closing procedures for the Spirit Stores. This position will be on the West Bend Campus three days per week and one day typically on the Beaver Dam Campus or helping with coverage in Fond du Lac as needed.

 

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one to three years of experience in retail, customer service or cashiering.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for store opening and closing duties, including verifying cashier daily balancing of drawers for accuracy while ensuring safe cash handling policies and procedures are followed, including cash, checks, and credit/debit cards.
• Assist customers with purchases by assisting them in finding products and utilizing the cash register to process payments and refunds.
• Assist with marketing the store, including the in-store merchandise displays from the stockroom to the sales floor. Includes check-in and check-out of ship-to-campus textbooks/supplies orders from MPTC’s Online Bookstore provider.
• Performs processes related to shipping, receiving, replenishment and scanning. Process website orders, including picking merchandise and shipping orders.
• Conduct store walk-throughs on a daily basis to ensure proper stock levels, inventory placement, and customer service levels. Maintains neat and clean store and work areas.
• Assist with scheduling, coordinating and other duties related to events in the College’s conference center(s).

 

Experience & Qualifications(in addition to those listed in the summary above):

• Knowledge of software applications, including Microsoft Office 365 (Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
• Ability to operate computerized accounts receivable/inventory system and cash register.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with end users, colleagues, and management to provide a complete and timely explanation of issues and decisions to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Ability to take initiative, work independently with little supervision and make sound decisions with minimal direction.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize special projects with routine assignments.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.

 

Other Position Requirements:
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to consistently walk and stand.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to move merchandise using proper equipment.
• Routinely travel to other Moraine Park locations to support additional Spirit Store operations and Conference Centers.

 

Hiring Rate: $16.77-$18.77 (pending board approval)

Starting: Immediately

Hours/Schedule/Travel: Monday – Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (20 hours/week), Three days per week will be on the West Bend Campus and one day per week will be in Beaver Dam, with occasional travel to Fond du Lac for coverage.
