Position Summary:

Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a full-time Library Services Coordinator on our Fond du Lac Campus.  The Library Services Coordinator provides oversight for the operation of campus libraries and a variety of testing services.

 

The successful candidate will have a master’s degree in Library Science, or a related field, two years of library experience and two years of supervisory experience.  We will accept applications until the position is filled; however, applicants who apply by May 9, 2025 will be considered in our first review of applicants.

Responsibilities(in addition to those listed in the summary above):

• Manage the operation of District Libraries, including planning, organizing, budgeting, equipment, facilities, and staffing. Facilitate all library operations, including circulation, collection development, cataloging, interlibrary loan, , library automation, and reference services.
• Facilitate testing services for GED/HSED, credit for prior learning, nursing program entrance exam, and other specialized testing.
• Develop and assess service area activities that support the faculty and the teaching/learning environment.
• Hire, mentor, and supervise assigned employees. Responsible for the performance management, coaching, and ongoing growth and development of direct reports.
• Promote student, employee, and community use of resources and services through advocacy and public relations initiatives.
• Prepare reports on library operations, services, and collections as required for accreditation, surveys, audits, review, and evaluation activities in consultation with appropriate departments at the college.
• Provide training, information retrieval, and research guidance for library users
• Serve on college and statewide committees and represent the College as a member of consortia and professional organizations to ensure continuing support and integration of services into college programs, services, and activities.
• Manage the departmental budget and monitor associated expenses for areas of supervision. Provide input for planning and budget development to include current expenses, major equipment, and College Initiative requests.

 

Experience & Qualifications:

• Thorough and current knowledge of library practices and procedures, information retrieval systems, and a commitment to excellent customer service.
• Knowledge of library management software and general software applications, including Microsoft Office 365 (Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with end users, colleagues, and management to provide a complete and timely explanation of issues and decisions to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Ability to take initiative, work independently with little supervision and make sound decisions with minimal direction.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize special projects with routine assignments.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.


Desired Qualifications:
• Two years of experience with standardized testing services.
• Two years of academic library experience.


Any combination of necessary experience and qualifications which provides desired knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

Hiring Range: $86,710-$100,579 (pending board approval)

Starting: June

Workplace Flexibility: Limited work from home upon approval

Travel: Frequent
