Position Summary:

Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a full-time Electromechanical Technology Instructor for the Fond du Lac Campus. This faculty role will enhance the College's capability to deliver courses involving automation controls and robotics to our students and community in our brand new AIR (Automation Innovation & Robotics) Center. This position is responsible for the multiple modality delivery of instruction and facilitation of student learning and providing ongoing development of curriculum, assessment, and learning strategies to meet workforce needs. In addition, will provide regular student support and contact, or refer to the appropriate department, to meet the learner’s classroom and career goals.

 

The successful candidate will have The successful candidate will have a Master's degree (or be willing to obtain) and two years of paid work experience (including one year that has been acquired in the past five years).  Qualified instructors will also have performed electrical/electronics & systems maintenance, field service systems work, troubleshooting and experience in robotics, hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare for and facilitate learning in the assigned courses according to the College’s core values. Establish a professional and safe learning environment. Set the classroom tone by modeling appropriate workplace skills and behavior. Maintain a positive climate for learning by performing classroom management and being aware of, monitoring, and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct.
• Meet student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments.
• Maintain student confidentiality, records, and documentation as required by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Submit grades within the expected timeframe.
• Provide timely verbal and written feedback to the students to ensure continued growth and development.
• Participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of curriculum.
• Assist with student recruitment and proactively promote the College programs and services offered.
• Promote retention and student success through the utilization of referrals to College services and resources.
• Engage in internal and external College meetings and activities.
• Build and maintain ongoing relationships with K-12, Department of Corrections (DOC), community, and industry partners beyond the classroom.

 

Experience & Qualifications:

• Upon hire, must maintain and/or obtain Higher Learning Commission, Faculty Quality Assurance System, and other agency requirements and licensure required to maintain individual and program accreditation, if applicable.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.
• Any combination of necessary experience and qualifications which provides desired knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

Other Position Requirements:
• Flexible scheduling may be required to include evenings and weekends.
• This position may require travel to MPTC (Moraine Park Technical College) campus locations other than the base location, client/contract work sites, and/or Department of Corrections (DOC) institutions.

 

Hiring Range: $73,339-$91,673

Starting: Spring semester, January 6, 2024
