Position Summary:

Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a full-time Math Instructor on our West Bend Campus.  This position is responsible for the multiple modality delivery of instruction and facilitation of student learning and providing ongoing development of curriculum, assessment, and learning strategies to meet workforce needs. In addition, will provide regular student support and contact, or refer to the appropriate department, to meet the learner’s classroom and career goals.  This instructor may be asked to teach at various sites within the Moraine Park District to include campus, center and business locations, and may be required to teach on evenings and weekends. This position reports to the Associate Dean of General Education. 

 

The successful candidate will have Master's Degree in Mathematics OR a Master's Degree in any field or discipline AND 18 graduate credits in Mathematics.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare for and facilitate learning in the assigned courses according to the College’s core values. Establish a professional and safe learning environment. Set the classroom tone by modeling appropriate workplace skills and behavior. Maintain a positive climate for learning by performing classroom management and being aware of, monitoring, and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct.
• Meet student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments.
• Maintain student confidentiality, records, and documentation as required by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Submit grades within the expected timeframe.
• Provide timely verbal and written feedback to the students to ensure continued growth and development.
• Participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of curriculum.
• Assist with student recruitment and proactively promote the College programs and services offered.
• Promote retention and student success through the utilization of referrals to College services and resources.
• Engage in internal and external College meetings and activities.
• Build and maintain ongoing relationships with K-12, Department of Corrections (DOC), community, and industry partners beyond the classroom.

 

Experience & Qualifications (In addition to degree listed above):

• Upon hire, must maintain and/or obtain Higher Learning Commission, Faculty Quality Assurance System, and other agency requirements and licensure required to maintain individual and program accreditation, if applicable.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.


Desired Qualifications:
• Experience working with secondary, post-secondary, and adult learners.
• Ability to adapt teaching to multiple modalities including in-person, online, video conferencing (VC), and Teams.

Any combination of necessary experience and qualifications which provides desired knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

 

Hiring Range: $73,339-$91,673 - 178 day contract during the academic school year
