Overview

Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a part-time, online Adjunct Faculty - Natural Science Instructor for the upcoming summer semester. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective instruction in a Natural Science course. Qualified candidates will have a Master's Degree in Biology, Anatomy, or Physiology OR a Master's Degree +18 credits in the area being taught. This online asynchronous course will start June 10th, 2024 and end on August 4th, 2024. This individual will report to the Associate Dean of General Education. Individuals must be residents of Wisconsin, Florida, or Arizona in order to be considered for employment as Adjunct Faculty at Moraine Park Technical College.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for and facilitate learning in the assigned courses according to the College’s core values. Establish a professional and safe learning environment. Set the classroom tone by modeling appropriate workplace skills and behavior. Maintain a positive climate for learning by performing classroom management and being aware of, monitoring, and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Meet student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments.
  • Maintain student confidentiality, records, and documentation as required by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Submit grades within the expected timeframe.
  • Provide timely verbal and written feedback to the students to ensure continued growth and development.
  • Promote retention and student success through the utilization of referrals to College services and resources.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies for the classroom and labs, as necessary to support the assigned program area and future trends in industry. Work with the supervisor to identify alternative funding sources, as needed.
  • Perform other duties, trainings and service to the College as assigned.

 

Education Standards

  • Master's Degree in the content area being taught, OR
  • Master's Degree in any field/discipline and 18 graduate credits in the content area being taught
